Schedule & timing

Hotel pickups (Samaná / Las Terrenas / Las Galeras): 7:45–8:30 AM for morning tour • 12:00–1:00 PM for afternoon.
Cruise guests (tender port Samaná): Meet 45–60 min before departure; back 90+ min before “all aboard.”

Important: We Make it easy for you to start your adventure! Our team will pick you up from any location within the Samaná area, including Las Terrenas and Las Galeras.

For cruise passengers, we also offer direct pick-up form the Samaná Cruise Port.

After you confirm your booking, a Tour Coordinator will contact you to provide your exact pick-up location and time. Please be ready at your designated meeting point a few minutes early so we can begin the experience on time.

Itinerary (morning)

08:15–08:45 Check-in, briefing on whale behavior & safety, life-vest fitting
09:00–09:25 Depart Samaná pier; head toward protected viewing zone
09:25–11:15 Whale observation (surface activity, tail slaps, breaches, mom-calf pairs); captain re-positions to maintain legal distance
11:15–11:45 Return cruise to pier
11:45–12:00 Disembark, optional quick stop at info center/museum (when available) (Afternoon follows same flow, shifted by time.)

Pacing & Notes

Boats: Covered catamarans or large speedboats with marine biologist/guide audio.
Viewing Rules: No feeding/touching; engines in neutral near whales; max boats per group; life vests required while under way.
Sea Conditions: Can be choppy. If prone to motion sickness, take medication 30–60 min before boarding (per label) and sit mid-ship.
Accessibility: Step down/up to docked boat; not ideal for severe mobility limitations on rough-sea days.
Suitable For: Families, nature lovers, photographers.
Not Suitable For: Severe motion sickness, recent back/neck surgery; infants on rough-sea days.
